EMMA ON THE SMALL IDEA THAT BECAME LITTLE SONNY.

Hi everyone, I'm Emma, Founder of Little Sonny.

As a first-time mum, getting out and about with a baby was so daunting for me. A "safe" activity in those first 6 months was doing the food shop, however I used to get so annoyed at the fact I either had to lay my baby in one of those grubby trolley bucket seats or try to cram a full week's food shop under the pram. So, when Sonny began sitting up, I was so excited that he could now start sitting in the trolley seat. However, all wasn't as perfect as it seemed...

I noticed how dirty, and unkempt these shopping trolleys were, and how most of them either had a broken strap or didn't have one at all. I constantly had to prop Sonny up with blankets or hold on to him to stop him slumping to the side.

And don't even get me started on those wooden restaurant highchairs, again these were always filthy, had no working harness or were simply not fit for purpose.

I hated the inconsistency and the fear of not knowing whether we would be able to enjoy a meal out or finish the food shop and that's where the seed of an idea came to me. I decided to design an insert that was lightweight, portable, aesthetic and that gave parents the ability to have consistency when it came to using highchairs, trolleys and swings when on the go.

And from there, our Little Sonny Seat was born.
